Ladies Day

Posted by Alison Haysman on January 31, 2014 at 8:55 AM

Bovingdon players presented the comedy 'Ladies Day', by Amanda Whittington on Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th November 2013, at the Memorial Hall in Bovingdon. They put on a great performance, a roller coaster of emotion, with some very funny and poignant moments shared between the ‘Fillies’ played by Barbara Bonney, Christina Payne, Shevon Burrows and Lisa Harbron, and a capacity audience on the Friday evening, when I attended.

A couple of weeks before hand, I was asked to paint York Race Course scene for the play, which I was delighted to do. It had been a while since Bovingdon Players did a play requiring a backdrop. The last ones I remember painting were for ‘Sherlock follow that sleigh’ in 2005 and ‘Scrooge the Musical’ in 2004. I’ve missed having such a lovely large area to paint, and look forward to painting the next one for the show in March 2014." target="_blank">Visit Bovingdon Players on Facebook
